Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Steinegg Cabinets(“Steinegg,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you visit steinegg.ca (the “Site”) or use our tools and services. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
We collect personal information only for the purposes described below, and only with your consent (which you may withdraw at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits). We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us:
a. Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and home or project address, when you request an estimate, book a consultation, place an order, or contact us.
b. Photos of your kitchen or space— when you use our “Reimagine” design tool, the photo you upload is processed by third-party AI services to generate a styled preview (see “Service providers” below). Please do not upload photos that show other people, or other people’s personal information, without their consent.
c. Messages and feedback— anything you type into our chat, the “Report an issue” form, or other messages, including any contact details you choose to include.
d. Payment information — if you purchase through the Site, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically:when you use the Site we automatically collect limited technical information such as your approximate location (city/region level), the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your IP address. For our usage counts, we store the IP address only as a one-way salted hash — not the address itself. This is collected through server logs, cookies, and analytics (see “Cookies and analytics”).
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
a. respond to your inquiries, prepare estimates, and book consultations;
b. generate your AI design preview and preliminary estimate;
c. process and fulfill orders and payments;
d. contact you about your project, quote, or order;
e. operate, secure, and improve the Site and our design tools; and
f. meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
Service providers and how your data is shared
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Site and deliver what you’ve asked for, and only as needed for that purpose. These providers include:
a. OpenAI and Google — to generate your AI kitchen preview (your uploaded photo and style selections are sent to these image/AI services), and to classify feedback;
b. Supabase — database and file storage for your submissions and renders;
c. Vercel — website hosting and delivery (processes technical data such as IP and request logs);
d. Stripe — payment processing;
e. our email provider — to send you your estimate, quote, and related messages;
f. OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — to estimate travel distance from an address you provide; and
g. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity— to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used and where it can be improved (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
Processing outside Canada. Several of these providers (including OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Vercel, Stripe, and in some cases Supabase) are located in, or store and process data in, the United States or other countries outside Canada. As a result, your personal information may be stored or processed outside Canada and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and government authorities in those countries under their laws. By using the Site and our tools, you consent to this transfer and processing. If you have questions about our cross-border data handling, contact us using the details below.
We may also disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Steinegg, our customers, or others.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to make the Site work and to understand, in aggregate, how it’s used so we can improve it. If enabled, we use Google Analytics (with IP anonymization turned on) to measure things like page views and time on page, and Microsoft Clarity, which produces anonymized heatmaps and session recordings showing how visitors move through and click around the Site. Clarity is configured to mask text and form inputs by default, so these recordings capture layout and interactions rather than the specific content you type. We use this only to understand and improve the experience.
You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and you can read more about Clarity in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law:
a. Uploaded photos and AI renders — the original photo you upload is not stored on our servers; the generated preview (render) is kept only as long as needed to deliver your preview and estimate and is deleted within 60 days.
b. Contact and estimate/lead records are generally kept for up to seven (7) years to support your project, warranty, and our business records, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
c. Aggregated, de-identified usage data may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, and to withdraw your consent to our use of it (subject to legal or contractual limits). To make a request, email us at info@steinegg.ca. We will respond within the time required by law.
If you have a concern we can’t resolve, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to use reputable providers who do the same.
Children
The Site and our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be posted on this page.
